CSIRO Marine and Atmospheric Research are seeking to appoint a motivated
and experienced project support scientist to provide programming support
for the development of climate change projections and the assessment of
climate change impacts, risks, and vulnerabilities.

The position is part of the Climate Variability and Change Program
within the Centre for Australian Weather and Climate Research (CAWCR) -
a partnership between CSIRO and the Bureau of Meteorology. The program
is a national research capability for seasonal prediction, climate
prediction and climate change science, and the application of climate
change projections to impacts, risks and vulnerabilities assessments.

Specifically you will:

Develop programming tools to apply established techniques for generating
regional climate projections. This will primarily involve analysis of
very large datasets comprised of observed climate data, the outputs from
global climate model simulations and regional downscaling simulations,
and other environmental data sets.

Apply and/or develop programming tools for conducting climate change
impacts and risks assessments. This will primarily involve application
of established models such as the rainfall-runoff model.

Collaborate on research projects in climate projection science.

Collaborate with scientist in other disciplines as part of projects
focusing on impacts and risks assessment and projects focusing on
climate change adaptations.
