Postdoctoral researcher in mathematical modelling in IC3 headquarters in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. IC3 is a
newly established climate institution settled by the Government of
Catalunya and the University of Barcelona, aiming at understanding of
current and future climate at both global and regional scales, while
aiming at improve and further develop technical capabilities and tools
to simulate unprecedented changes in climate impacts on societies and
economies. IC3 is expected to grow to a total staff around 200 people,
with about 125-150 scientists. Working languages of IC3 are English,
Catalan and Spanish. For details, see .

REQUIREMENTS:

1. Skill and demonstrated ability and experience in building,
calibrating and in the validation of mathematical models (stochastic ODE
systems...) for modeling the dynamics of VBD or/and (WBD). Experience in
procedures for estimating modeling parameters (e.g. MIF methods), will
be highly valued.

2. The candidate should have demonstrated facility in handling large
databases (especially climatic databases) and in programming languages
needed for developing code and scripts, as well as proven skills in
advanced statistics is a strong requirement. Capacity to write
proposals, manuscripts and to work with other colleagues in a highly
collaborative environment will also be valued.

REMUNERATION: Salary will be commensurate with Spanish standards for
postdoctoral contracts, starting at S12 (29.000 ?/year). Possibility of
extending the contract beyond the two years will be possible depending
on the accomplishments by the candidate.

LENGTH OF CONTRACT: Two years (1+1).

STARTING DATE: The position starts preferably in July,1.
