The post-doctorla fellow will work on variational methods for ensemble assimilation. Emphasis will be put on the study of the bayesian character, or otherwise, of those methods. The post-doctoral researcher will work at Laboratoire de Météorologie Dynamique (LMD), in central Paris, in collaboration with Olivier Talagrand. Prerequisites. Doctoral degree in dynamical meteorology or oceanography (or equivalent level), experience with numerical modelling of the atmospheric or oceanic flow, and with at least one form of advanced data assimilation (variational assimilation or Kalman Filter). Net salary: from 2000.00 up to 3000.00 euros per month, depending on experience.
